Ecología y distribución de los micromoluscos de la Laguna de Tamiahua, Veracruz, México

Resumen

Se identificaron 58 especies de micromoluscos, tanto gasterópodos como pelecípodos, contenidos en 47 muestras de un litro de sedimento superficial húmedo. Las poblaciones se controlaron cuantitativamente, tratando de definir las tendencias de distribución de cada especie, así como los conjuntos característicos, para correlacionarlos con los datos ecológicos disponibles, como salinidad, temperatura y tipo de fondo. Dichos conjuntos reflejan dos biofacies bien caracterizadas y una tercera no bien definida:

A) Conjunto de laguna polihalina en substrato predominantemente arenoso. 

B) Conjunto de laguna polihalina en subrato predominantemente arcilloso, y

C) Conjunto de laguna ultra halina influenciado por agua marina en substrato formado por mezcla de arena-limo-arcilla (no bien caracterizado).
