Abstract

This work is not intended to offer a course on PHYSICAL CRYSTALLOGRAPHY; rather, it has been written with the aim of familiarizing those who wish to learn about the physical properties of the crystalline medium.

It will be read with profit by mineralogists, chemists, students who have not yet entered a specialized course in crystal physics, and anyone who, having notions of morphological crystallography, wishes to complete their scope of knowledge in this discipline without seeking any specific specialization.

The intention was to give the work an expository aspect regarding its principles and to gradually familiarize the reader with some mathematical expressions, leaving references to the most commonly used analytical methods for the final topics.
