Abstract

The Santa Catarina 3a well is the fourth well in the deep hydrogeological exploration program in Mexico City conducted by the Mexico City Water System. The well is located in southern Mexico City (UTM 14Q 491372.62 E, 2133589.67 N), in the Xochimilco borough. It was drilled from December 2016 to July 2017, in a "J" directional drill, with an approximate azimuth of 270°. The horizontal displacement was 520 m and reached 2026 m developed (md), equivalent to a true vertical depth of 1912 m with respect to ground level. The start of the deviation was located at 567 md and reached an inclination of 26.9°.
