Following the geological-mining study in the Pachuca Range by the Institute, this number presents the eastern end of it. Chapter I, by Ordóñez, contains: Topographical and geological description. The veins. Description of the rocks. Chapter II, by Rangel, describes the mines' exploitation. Chapter III, also by Rangel, consists in: “Metallurgy. Historical notes. Hacienda of Santa María de Regla, de Sánchez, de San Miguel and de San Antonio. Grinding.” The illustrations include four maps: (1) Topographic map of Real del Monte with the mining claims and the principal veins of the district, 1:20,000. (2) Vertical projection of the work of the main mines, 1:5,000. (3) Horizontal general projection of the works. (4) Cross-sections of some of the veins, 1:2,000.
